			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just cleared out 52 spam comments from people trying to get back links from me to their website, and find it quite ironic that someone would try that tactic on a blog about SEO. Getting back links is an important factor in getting your site ranked higher in the search engines, but it only helps if you link back to sites that are related to your topic of interest. I spam every comment that doesn&#8217;t have anything to do with the post, and every comment that sends me to a weight loss or pills for enlargement website.</p>
<p>These tactics being used here are called black hat tricks, and they are just that &#8220;tricks&#8221;. <span id="more-81"></span>They are used to trick search engines into thinking you have valuable backlinks, but with advancements search engines can now tell if what you are linking to has anything relating to your website. If a site you are linking to has nothing to do with your website, you will get penalized for.</p>
<p>My advice would be to read a book on SEO, or check out some of the good blogs out there. Here is an <a href="http://www.seomoz.org/" target="_blank">SEO website</a> worth checking out. To all spammers, Check out their software, and figure out how to get your site ranked correctly, and please stop leaving comments on this site because it creates 10 minutes of work a week I shouldn&#8217;t have to do.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>SEO (Search Engine Optimization)</strong> is a word that has been thrown around very loosely lately and a lot of people and dealers think that because your website or blog is optimized for SEO that it will automatically show up in google searches. This is an assumption that is not correct and can create frustration on the clients end of things if it is not discussed in the initial meetings of the websites creation.</p>
<p><strong>Explaining SEO To Your Client</strong></p>
<p>When you first talk with a client about creating their website it is important to discuss the Importance of SEO, how it can help them in search engines, and that it is not an automatic process.<span id="more-68"></span> There is a lot of work that goes into designing a website, and then to make it search engine friendly just adds to that complexity. Explain to your client that because their is so much competition for almost every single market it will take time to get the rankings in google and other search engines high because there are competitors who have websites running longer. Although you know may know everything there is to know about SEO, time is an important factor in google&#8217;s decision to put your site at the top.  Heres a few steps you can take to give assurance to your client that the hard work you put into their website will pay off in the long run.</p>
<p>1.   <em> Take the time</em> to go over domain names with your client, because the domain name is one of the most important and determining factors in how you will be rated on search engines. Choosing a domain name that is a keyword related to your clients target market is much better than choosing a domain that reiterates the name of their business. The exception to this is if your client is well branded and is already known to the public.<br />
2.    <em>Talk with your client </em>and come up with a list of keywords relating to subjects within your clients niche. Tell them that using keywords that are too broad based may mean the competition for those words is higher and will result in them less likely being ranked high in google. Instead focus in on a sub-category within the clients niche market and they will have more success. Also explain to them about geo tags which should help them in the rankings based on their location.<br />
3.    <em>Explain to your client</em> that they should not be worried about getting on page one in the first few months because like I said before it&#8217;s not something that will happen over night, and may not happen at all depending on the level of competition.<br />
4.    Again Explain to your client there is no exact science for SEO, but patience, research and hard work on both ends will definitely help the process be more enjoyable.</p>
<p><strong>Ranking High Is Not Easy</strong></p>
<p>Getting ranked high in search engines is something that used to be easy, but with changes to the system comes changes to how us SEO gurus have to go about our business. Everyone in a certain market wants to get ranked high in search engines so the likeliness of it happening to a company in less than a year (actually even two years) is unrealistic. there is a lot of power that goes with being ranked high, and most industries have caught on to it. Go to google keyword tool and type in a keyword of your choice. You can see just how many people search that term a month, and imagine if that term relates to something you sell. Well if 50,000 people search that term a month and your ranked number 1 on google you are likely to get 50% or more of those people to your website or blog.</p>
<p>Businesses know this fact and are all competing to get there. With changes come innovation and staying on top of the changes and adapting can be difficult. Your client&#8217;s ultimate goal is to make money and money is a subject that can frustrate people so by following some of these steps you may be able to ease some of that frustration from the onset of the project, and create a better working relationship with your client.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SEM &#8211; We  					base the success of our SEM campaigns on conversions not  					clicks.  Again a conversion is a hard lead or a hard  					response meaning a call or a form.  Many SEM companies  					sell dealers on the number of clicks but if the click does  					not result in a lead then in our minds, that is a wasted  					click. <span id="more-55"></span> So we measure our success on conversions.   					Our goal is a 5% conversion.  That means for every  					website visitor that clicked on your ad we want at least a  					5% conversion rate or 5% of the people to call or fill out a  					form.  These results don&#8217;t even count the website  					traffic of the consumers that hit the landing page and then  					click through to the dealers website.  Once they leave  					the landing page and go to a dealer&#8217;s website then we can&#8217;t  					track if they called.  We only can track that they  					clicked into the dealer&#8217;s site.  If the consumer called  					the local number on the dealer&#8217;s site then we don&#8217;t get  					credit for the call.  So our actual lead conversion off  					of the program is much higher than reported.   					Regardless, our goal is to get a 5% conversion.  In  					some cases we have had 10% to 20% conversion rates.   					Not all campaign results are the same.  If you compare  					that response rate to the national average of direct mail  					which is less than a half of one percent, there really is no  					comparison.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SEM &#8211; Our SEM  					program only targets the people that you can service.   					With your help we determine the service area around you  					business so that you only capture those consumers that you  					can service.  After all, if you can&#8217;t service them then  					you don&#8217;t really want them as leads.  So how do we do  					this? <span id="more-49"></span> We set the program up to capture only the IP  					addresses within the defined service area.  If a  					consumer enters a keyword and their IP address is outside of  					your defined area then your ads do not appear on the search  					page.  If they are in the service area, then your ad  					does appear because that person is a qualified consumer.   					So now you get consumers who are looking for your products  					and live within your service area.  Talk about a highly  					qualified lead!</p>
